08:05 AM ET 07.04 | If Ray Perkins is right, football fans should get used to seeing 66-year-old Tom Coughlin on the sidelines for a long time. Perkins, 70, is about to enter his first season running the show for tiny Jones County Junior College in Ellisville, Miss. Perkins, the former coach of the Giants and Buccaneers in the NFL and Alabama in the Southeast Conference, doesn't think for a second he's too old to get back into the game. He's a great admirer of Coughlin's and doesn't see the two-time Super Bowl winner going anywhere any time soon, either. "Tom Coughlin's got another 15, 20 years in him," Perkins told The Post. When that remark was met with laughter, Perkins quickly added, "He does. He works out, he takes care of himself, he feels good."

Quit feeling him.

It'll be a loss to the NFL when Coughlin decides to call it quits. One of the few that still holds players accountable and they respond positively to him.

Coughlin could be the NFL's Paterno---- this guy is loyal and cares about one thing--- RINGS!

Too bad the eagles have Ton-Of-Fun and they are now stuck with him and the Felons...

It was Ray Perkins, the "gunslinger" who changed the culture of the Giants after 16 years of "lousy" football. Parcells was the beneficiary. It was that first NFL players strike that turned him against pro football and to the college game.

Coughlin's one of a kind.

The Giants were turning things around under Perkins but Parcell's always gets the credit because he took the Giants to the Super Bowl. Concidering that just about every year the New York media was trying to get rid of him, Coughlin has done pretty well.

That, and the fact that the Alabama job opened up. Perkins should have known better than to try to be the first coach to follow a legend.

Yes he has. The Jags have been looking for a HC ever since.

True. Pity the guy that comes after the Legend. But anyone who watched the Giants from 1964-1979 KNOW what lousy football is. It was Perkins who cleaned house and toughened them up.

Ray Perkins Knows Football!!!!!

Coughlin has two rings and his legacy is secure. But I'll be surprised if he is still coaching in 2015 let alone 15 more years.

Do I ever. I credit the miracle at the Meadowlands for the beginning of the turnaround - the team cleaned house starting with the coaching staff.

Absolutely. One of the men that made the Raiders the Raiders back in the day.

And thanks to all the men and women serving our country this 4th. Be careful out there, everyone.

The Paterno comment is not funny, Caughlin is not Italian, and JOE, NEVER COACHED in The NFL, Every Coach in The NFL cares about Rings and Super Bowl Victories, That's why their there! So what's your point?

July 4, 2012  05:34 PM ET

Perkins is lying! Have a Creepy 4th!

July 4, 2012  10:39 PM ET

Some people just love their jobs so much that when they retire, they die. Keep coaching Coughlin....your men have bested mine in the Super Bowl twice. I wouldn't mind getting a little payback, but only with you at the head.

I hope he coaches a long time, despite 2 SB wins he still doesn't get enough credit.
He has his teams prepared for playoff games better than any coach since Bill Walsh.
Even the Jaguars days with Brunell, they always came to play, thanks to TC.
