08:09 AM ET 07.04 | Chad Ochocinco earned more than a friends Tuesday, inviting a grieving fan to his wedding. It all started when a woman named Cheryl Minton from Franklin, Ohio, (who writes that she enjoys animals, reality TV and MMA) tweeted a message to Ochocinco -- who's getting married to reality TV star Evelyn Lozada on Wednesday -- that read, "I'm feeling pretty low today. Lost my hubby 2 weeks ago. Together 30 years. Very hard. Please pray for me. Thanks." Ochocinco responded by asking if she had a passport. She said she did, and Ochocinco wrote back asking if she could pack and be a guest at his wedding. She said yes, and he sent her this: Check ya DM... Just start packing... Evelyn will make arrangements... see you tonight/early a.m."

Happy Independence Day, all!
Kind of a goofy guy but I think his intentions are good. I'm starting to think that a lot of what is perceived as attention grabbing really may be an effort to keep in touch with the fans.

what exactly prompts someone to just write a message like that to a stranger? Hey there...don't know you, but my husband just died...sooo....ummm...pray for me?
Hate to be the cynic, but it's just weird.

You're right. It doesn't take too long for people to take advantage of someone's good deeds. Not saying that's what she did; she may be legit but it is kinda weird to post something like this.

I don't think Ocho was ever malicious - more like a big kid or class clown, doing crazy antics to get attention, but all in good fun.

It was a kind gesture. I always liked it when they showed athletes doing something with the Make a Wish Foundation.

Nice gesture, unfortunately it was made by a psychopath.

I hope she kept her maiden name. Will make it easier for her if she does not have to go through the hassle of changing all her legal documents every six months just for a name change.

Apparently not. He does have one thing T.O. doesn't, which is a job.
