Lakers making strong push for Nash

Bynum desperately needs this to happen. Taking the ball out of Kobe's hands and placing it and the decision making into Nash's will allow him to thrive.

I don't know about these Lakers. One minute they get younger by replacing Fisher for Sessions. Next they are going after 39 year old Nash. What's the deal LA? With Nash at 40 and Kobe at 35 jokes on them will be 'they still alive' - haha!

What they need to do is get real and try to trade Kobe for Howard and get a three way trade that will ship Bynum out and get them OJ May and Rudy Gay. Lakers need to retool quickly. They're getting too damn old. Nash and Kobe just won't work - besides being too old they both like to dominate the ball as well. It's like Melo and Stat - it just don't work fellas....

No. If the Lakers were fortunate enough to sign Nash, Kobe will touch the ball when Nash deems him to be open. It's not as though Kobe would be unhappy. Playing with a guy who loves to pass is fun. As long as the Lakers win (and they would) Kobe would have no complaints. He''s not going to get number six with the roster as currently constructed. Getting a playmaker like Nash in there could be just the thing.

That's a horrible idea. Besides Kobe is the only NBA player with a no trade clause. The only way the Lakers get rid of him is to amnesty him and if they did that the entire city would riot.

I would love to see Nash play along Kobe but I still think the Lakers need to move Bynum. If they could find a way to put a package together with Bynum for Howard they would instantly put themselves into great position for a title run.

Anyone who can't play with a pass first point guard who shoots fifty percent from the field is a selfish player. We know Carmello is. Are you saying that Kobe is as well?

There is only one player the Lakers should move Bynum for and that is Howard. THEN only if Howard agrees to an extension. He won't so keep Bynum and get a point guard who can get Drew the ball. Nash fits the bill.

Opinions are free so this is just my take. There wasn't no riots when Shaq got the boot. For two straight years Lakers and San Antonio have been eliminated by athleticsm so....

Shaq deserved to get the boot. Many blame Kobe not standing up for Shaq. I blame Shaq yelling at the owner to "Pay me!" during an exhibition game.

If Lakers fans didn't riot if Kobe were amnestied (which isn't going to happen) I would wonder. I mean they would be paying Kobe sixty million dollars and he would be playing elsewhere. Of all the silly reasons they've torched cars there (like winning an NBA championship) this would at least be somewhat understandable (if random acts of violence/vandalism ever could be justified).

In the first place it's disrespectful to Kobe to put him in the same class with Melo. Secondly their problems are distinct and unrelated to a point guard.

With Melo the ball basically comes to a standstill when he gets it. All the other nine players freeze and wait for him. It's damning. Kobe on the other hand takes over games in the flow of the offense and wills his teams to win. Six freakin titles.

Simply put Kobe will lay back and let Nash run the show if Nash is passing and scoring and the team is winning. If not he takes over.

Melo on the other hand won't pass the ball and when he stops the ball and takes over game his team loses. Another clear evidence is that Melo's played with Iverson, Andre Miller and Chauncey Billups and still hasn't found a way to be effective with a capable point guard. In short Melo's not just a selfish player - his style kills team work. Kobe on the other hand takes over when team work fails to work... the mamba is an all time great. Y'll talk about him to your grandsons. Melo is just one of the many players that come and go....

Obviously, I don't care about disrespecting Kobe. I don't think he should have a problem with playing with Nash but if he does...then I would wonder why.

Six? He doesn't have six. If he wants to get six then he should welcome Nash with open arms and allow Bynum to be the first option.

The fact that Anthony couldn't play with Andre Miller is I agree especially damning. But Iverson and Billups aren't pass first point guards although Iverson could have been were it not for his ego.
