08:05 AM ET 07.05 | Brandon Weeden may be the new kid on the block, but the incumbent isn't ready to relinquish the Browns' starting quarterback job. For Daniel Colt McCoy, the word quit isn't his vocabulary. While it would be easy for the former Jim Ned and Texas great to just give up and request a trade, it's not in his nature. He wants to fight for the starting quarterback job at Cleveland. Not just for him, but for his teammates and the Browns fans. "I really like Cleveland," McCoy said Tuesday after wrapping up his two-day youth football camp in Abilene. "I've always been a guy that wants to finish what he starts." ... "That's part of my nature," McCoy said about his desire to fight for the job. "You're getting everything I have."

"I've always been a guy that wants to finish what he starts." ... "That's part of my nature," McCoy said about his desire to fight for the job. "You're getting everything I have." Colt must have forgotten his last college ftball game @ Texas. In the bowl game, he didn't finish.

I hope he gets dealt before he's too far gone to recover (i.e. David Carr).

Why?

I don't know for certain but I'd believe that was a bit more severe than a Cutler-type injury.

Just let any Pro-Bowl-class linebacker hit him on a blitz, and we'll see how well he finishes what he starts.

Starts on his feet, finishes on a stretcher. What's wrong with that?

With that offensive line, it won't take long.

We can make a long list of players who have rings and the only time the set foot on the playing field was celebrating.

McCoy vs Weeden. Clash of the "Mitans." Now on PPV.

Like that had anything to do with him.

Really? You really believe he could have went back out there and finished the game? Nonsense! He was injured and the team doctors/coaches would not have let him back in for fear he would have blown the game.

The only reason he came back in the game after the Harrison hit was because he didn't know any better. You can say he lacks arm strength and accuracy down field along with happy feet in the pocket but don't question his toughness. He has already proved that he is tough by all the hits he has taken in a Browns uni.

Kind of hard throw when your right shoulder has been injured.

Hey now, the line has not filled itself and should be able to contain the D this year.

Browns fans will be getting the real McCoy this year.
