It is July and now a lot of team are getting concern about their pitching. But there will be more losers than winners at trading time because limited pitchers to chose from.

That was a good game.

The guy has been amazingly awful. And I wasted a draft pick on him in my fantasy league.

I wonder how much pitchers in the Majors listen to their coaches. You can see some stuff almost every game where pitchers have their bodies out of whack due to side-stepping or throwing against their bodies because their lead leg goes to far to the right (right-handers) or to the left (southpaws) or their arms are trailing too far and thus they put far too much strain on their shoulders and elbows.

I haven't seen Santana pitch in quite some time to notice what his deal is, my guess is it's probably mostly mental because that's an overlooked aspect as well. He's been in a long rut so his confidence has to be shot.

The headline isn't supported by the quoted excerpt; the headline implies he is about to be demoted, but the quotation from Scioscia says they are relying on him and need him to pitch better. Throw in the news about Haran's back, and the clear implication of the excerpt is that Santana isn[t going anywhere. I wonder if it is a case of a headline writer who can't read,, or an editor who doesn't know how to excerpt a story

Has been for years. Always had good stuff, just doesnt seem to be able to keep it together.

His stats are worse in NY than any other park.

Santana has been inconsistent his entire career--a good year, then a bad year, over and over again. Angels should have traded him after a good year to get value in return. Now, it will be lower teir prospects and/or a player to be named later, or will be go the way of Scott Kazmir?

santana stats are on and off, since he started pitching in the majors he has had one year and one bad year, his numbers had been as 10 wins 16 loses, 18 wins 10 loses, 9 wins 14 loses, until last year he did had 11 wins and 15 loses, so this year should be his up year but he has reversed all the way back to the beginning of his caeer when he lost 15 games and won 8 games or so,

dan haren was and has been playing injuried, if the franchise refuse to acknowledge that its a different history, there are things that you can easely hide but a injury can't be ignored for too long haren bad outings had been for almost two months and it was a matter of time for him to just collapse in his pitching role, about santana he may have bad mechanics but i don't really believe that's the only thing its giving him trouble in his regular schedule as been pitching in every 5 days, he has to be either injuried or he has a dead arm but something fishy its hiding some where in santana's health,,

i think the halos are a very patience franchise, they would give him a second a prolonged period of time on the verge of hope that indeed he may be able to overturn things in the positive way, but again i inssist that this player has to be injuried i hope that i'm wrong but when a player can't perform at to his capabilities that means something its defenetly wrong with him,,,

all in all the halos do- have two fair pitchers in their rotation, weaver, and cj wilson, other than that even jerome williams was leiboring in his last starts untill he went out because of shortness of breath,,,

should the angels trade wells for a regular starter?? let say cole hamels or McCARTHY from the A's??
