08:06 AM ET 07.06 | This hasn't been a great week for NBA fans in Dallas. [The Mavericks], in the aftermath of Thursday's stunning departure of point guard Jason Kidd, have reached out for a second time to Ramon Sessions, this time with a starting job to pitch. A source close to the situation said the Mavs initially contacted Sessions' representatives prior to Kidd opting to pass on a three-year, $9 million offer from Dallas and instead agreeing to a similar deal to join the New York Knicks. After Kidd reached his decision to move on, the Mavs again reached out to Sessions, the 26-year-old point guard that was traded from Cleveland to the Lakers at the trade deadline last season. Sessions, the source said, is seeking a starting job and security.

Good morning CC. I have to agree with you...Ramon Sessions is NOT the answer. I am afraid Dallas is gearing up to swoop in on the player OKC cannot re-sign next season...will have to wait and see what happens...a whole lot of activity during this FA period though.

I feel sorry for Dirk. He left a lot of money on the table because Cuban sold him an empty shopping cart.

If dj's assessment of Sessions its correct, Dallas should be contenders this season. Hell he kept us from getting swept this year in three second round.

I agree with you here...Dirk took it to the teeth. I hope Cuban is happy.

The Laker fans thought he was the answer. And we got Tyler Zeller for that draft pick.

And your projected power rankings for next season are at #29. Right ahead of the Toronto Raptors. Where the Lakers are at #4 behind the Spurs, Heat and Thunder!
