Celtics scrambling to keep Allen?

08:07 AM ET 07.06 | The market for Ray Allen may be drying up somewhat, but it's not as if his remaining choices -- likely between the Celtics and Miami Heat -- are awful. There also would be the sense that Allen, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett will stay around to finish the run they began in the summer of 2007. A source close to Allen indicated the Celtics are making a heavy push to get this done, attempting to answer his issues along the way. ... Miami won't be able to come near Allen's number. With just the $3 million so-called mini-mid-level exception to offer, the best the Heat could do is toss him a third year, which would make the overall package three years at $9 million, leaving them still $3 million shy of the C's.

I think Ray Allen will stay in Boston. He is not a good fit in Miami because he want's playing time and is not going to get it in Miami. Hopefully, his ankle is better after surgery and he will be the Allen of old. I don't see him signing with anyone but the Celtics...just me.

That's the only reason I am thinking he won't go to Miami. He would have to be "cold blooded" to leave pp and kg for d wade and LBJ. With that said, Danny Ainge was shopping him to other teams this season so Ray might not be too concerned with loyalty since Ainge wasn't showing too much (even though he was absolutely right in shopping all of those guys in order to improve the team).
There will be plenty of playing time in Miami if Ray goes there. Battier was playing 40 mins a game during the playoffs. They will def be able to find time for Ray Ray. A lineup of Wade, Allen, Battier, LBJ and Bosh in crunch time would be nasty.
