08:10 AM ET 07.06 | The NBA transaction frenzy is in full bloom, but it's not taking hold in Philadelphia -- not yet, anyway. Rod Thorn said there's no truth to rumblings about a trade involving the 76ers and Raptors. In an email Thursday night, Thorn denied there's anything to a rumored deal in which the Sixers would acquire swingman DeMar DeRozan and point guard Jose Calderon, whose contract expires next summer, in exchange for Andre Iguodala and young big man Nikola Vucevic. Thorn also said, "(I) don't know yet" if the Sixers' 2012-13 roster will be very similar to last year's roster.

Pau for AI is not a good trade for the Lakers unless the Sixers are taking MWP too

The Sixers are likely going to end up heading into next season with the same roster they had last year (plus the draft picks). Their management isn't serious about making a move.

Yeah cuz if you're Philly and you can trade the best player in the deal and the only young big man involved you just have to do it right?...Dumbest rumored Iggy trade yet

A.I is a solid player , just dont understand why this guy is continuously involved in trade talks.
This trade would only benefit the raptors.

Iggy just sold his home here. I think he will be moved. I just don't have the confidence that they will get anything back to help them. Philly is not the most desirable place to play anymore. Franchise has had one good season (2001) in 2 decades. They lack any charisma since the real AI left. They keep drafting tweeners that just clog the bench situation. They seem to lack direction in regards to where they want the team to be. Getting rid of Brand and his 18 million will help though.

As a Raps fan I think this would be a great deal, i.e. that would be a bad deal for Philly.

I think he's involved in trade talks because his contributions are out of whack with his contract. He's at $14.7 for this year, and has a player option for 15.9 next year. He's a very good player, but I don't believe he's $14.7MM good. Or $15.9MM.

U just said it..hes a solid player but not spectacular. Doesnt do one thing extremely well (except jump high) and you cant build a team around him. He would be a very good asset on a contender bc of his versatility and defense but you cant make him the focal point as they've tried to do in Philly.

He just sold it a couple weeks ago. Besides why would the Sixers want another soft big man they just resigned Hawes to be that guy. Unfortunately it looks as if it's going to be the same roster because they still believe that Iggy is a star. Also they consider beating a DRose-less Bulls team in the first round progress so don't expect much from Rod Thorn's brain trust.

Won't happen. Sixers don't need to add payroll, they need to subtract. Unfortunately I see nothing happening and we lost out last year by not trading Iggy for Monta Ellis which would've made a good tandem with jrue and Evan could've played the 3. But Iggy for Pau? No way.

If I had to choose between Spencer Hawes and Pau Gasol, I'd drive Hawes to the airport with a one-way ticket to wherever he wanted to go.
