07:22 AM ET 07.07 | Within The Rivalry, the most heated rivalry belongs to Mark Teixeira vs. Vicente Padilla. It is a Hatfield and McCoy baseball thing that dates to when they were competitors, the worst of teammates and now foes again. Teixeira normally has the non-confrontational persona of a diplomat. But he makes no concealment of his distaste for Padilla. "I have to get in line," Teixeira said of the number of people who dislike Padilla. "He doesn't have a lot of friends in the game."

Quit your whining you dyck.

I don't blame Teixeira one bit. When a guy hits you 3 out of 10 times, then you know it is on purpose. Only answer is to hit the number 3 hitter on the other team every time it happens regardless of the score.
It is the hitters on the a guys own team who get the message through to pitchers. And face it, pitchers like Padilla are gutless. They know the hitter will get stopped by the catcher before anything happens.

Padilla has been a headhunter for years. His bad reputation is well deserved. Plus, he's very handsome.

I disagree, the best way to solve Padilla's "problem" is for Teixeira to hit the LONG ball.

So they won't friend each other on Facebook or exchange Christmas cards. Really, who cares? Youklis didn't have much love for Jaba either and it makes for a good article here and there but not for much else.

This is part of the game, all the times Jeter has been hit I don't think I've ever heard him run to the media about it. What happened to the days when players took care of these things on the field instead of tweeting about it or running to the media to complain?

Really? So the National League has no DH and are you saying that batters don't get thrown at on purpose there? What about the AL pre 1972? It's part of the game, it's just in the past players knew that and dealt with it from within, now they all boohoo to the media about it.

Another solution used to be to bunt down the first base line, and run over the pitcher when he tried to field the bunt. I don't know if Padilla covers enough ground to get to the first base line, though.
