Lewis leaning toward Heat?

07:57 AM ET 07.07 | Once he signs July 11, Allen will give Miami 12 players under contract. And there's a decent chance Rashard Lewis becomes the 13th. Lewis is visiting Sunday, and now that Miami has given its $3.1 million exception to Allen, Lewis likely would not object to taking a minimum salary from the Heat --- unless another attractive team offers substantially more. Lewis has told associates that he's not hung up over salary because he's making $13.7 million in a Hornets buyout this coming season. He also has told associates that Miami very much appeals to him. Unless the Spurs and Knicks swoop in with a better offer, I like Miami's chances here. And the Knicks already have used their mid-level exception.

There should be an NBA Heat league. Every team named the Heat and every NBA player be on their rosters. Appears that's whats happening these days anyway.

Impressive Heat........your pitch is working "Hey last legs vets come here if you want a title". Be careful in Lewis though..since he got off the roids that jump shot has no lift and has been disastrous. Lewis, Allen, Camby and the list goes on....great job Heat, Don Carlo Rileyone has a very impressive hand on the NBA!

No I actually congratulated the Heat in the championship attainment. You on the hand are acting like what most of us New Yorkers are very often accused of......an arrogant championship fan. Problem is..the Heat don't have 27 ring in BB, 8 in FB. I will give you this though..you've equal us in NBA rings and it shows. Lets just see if you have that same zeal 40 years from now. Could happen.

I don't think you can disagree on the fact that it does seems as though a slew of last legs vets are headed to South Beach. I was happy for the last one that ventured there (J. Howard), but it does seems as though the sayin is true "retire in South Beach". This (sayin) appears that it does also apply to NBA players as well, now doesn't it?
