Depends on your point of view. I never got a $100,000 raise in one year! ($300,000 over three years) Sounds pretty good to me.
But I never had the pressure of having to win college football games. I was only responsible for children's education.

Responsible for children's education? Let's take away your health benefits and job security! How's that instead of a raise?

Sounds very familiar but I'm retired so job security isn't an issue. However, they are threatening to jack with health benefits for retirees and current employees.
Are you a member of the Texas Legislature? lol

The 6 million dollar man?! Now that we got rid of Tommy the turnover kid I would like another crack at Skippy!

First of all, thank you for your service as an educator. I'm from Indiana, and I'm a former English teacher. I've left the classroom for administration. We're seeing legislators, the governor, and superintendent of education say horrible things about teachers and pass laws to take away job security and the like. It's certainly not a good time to be in education in America.

While not a teacher myself, come from a long line of teachers and my daughter is teaching HS now. The assault on teaching is totally uncalled for...everyone is trying so hard to be PC, that they are placing the blame for perceived failures on the wrong people.
There is NO call for the responsibility of the family in any of this and that is, to me, the main culprit. We have gotten so far from personal responsibility it is unimaginable...but enough for now....don't want to get on that soapbox on a Saturday....

Yeah, but he beat Nebraska that year and sent them off to the B1G with their tails dragging ... so he earned it.

That's good rationalization right there. Not really deserved, but rationalized.

What is crazy here in Texas is they want to scrap a system that has been actuarially sound for something like 60 years. Most people only want to fix things that are not actuarially sound. Politicians are different...they can screw up what is working if it is not politically viable.

Yes indeed .... rationalized. In all honesty I think football coaches are the 2nd most overpaid employees in America, with 1st place going to corporate CEO's.
Saban, Mack, Stoops, Meyer .... what ridiculous salaries!
