09:00 AM ET 07.08 | NBA officials say Miami also planned to make a strong (though long-shot) pitch to Kevin Garnett had he not re-signed with Boston (for three years, $34 million) and to Lamar Odom had the Clippers not traded for him June 30. But Ray Allen was always Miami's first choice, and the Heat's thrilled to get him.

if he did join the Heat, was he gonna back up Bosh? or was he gonna play center?

Like I said yesterday, they should just change every NBA teams' names to 'the Heat' so all these T&Rs can have some validity.

He was going to pound his chest, howl and give demeaning dirty looks to all the smaller players on the court! So, pretty much either position would have done!

What exactly is T & R trying to do with this thread?.......further incense Celtics fans. Garbage article as far as I'm concern. Heat fans enjoy the spotlight...its your time to shine!

I would have used the Knicks, but their ownership/Management tried but were too incompetent to succeed.

Sorry buddy.. the Yankees earned their titles on the field of play. Using your logic I guess the Red Sox bought their titles.

You're sadly mistaken.. titles are earned, Miami included or didn't you watch the last two years of Heat basketball?

LeBron James: Congrats from one Champ to another!! #Silva http://yfrog.com/oevnwyyj Twitter

- see....THIS is why people despise him.....
does he HAVE to call himself a 'champ' while congratulating someone else?

That's what I thought when I first read that. I wonder if Tony Stewart got one for winning the Coke Zero 400.

I doubt LBJ is into NASCAR but I'm pretty sure he's into calling himself "Champ"
