10:44 AM ET 07.08 | American forward Charlie Davies has signed a two-year contract with the Danish club Randers, leaving the French team Sochaux. Davies struggled to find playing time at Sochaux after returning from injuries sustained in an October 2009 car crash, and spent last year on loan with Major League Soccer's D.C. United. After the crash, he made just two appearances for the French club, both as a second-half substitute in February.

I hope Davies takes this as a humbling experience and makes the most of the opportunity, similar to what Jozy Altitodre did last season. Davies had great potential and suffered a serious setback, but he is being given another chance and it is up to him to show that he has matured physically, mentally and emotionally enough to become the impact player everyone thought he would be.

He doesn't have the break away speed anymore. He's not going to be impact player.
