Paul won't rule Knicks out for future

08:05 AM ET 07.09 | Here we go again. It has been nearly two years since Chris Paul made the toast heard 'round the NBA at Carmelo Anthony's wedding. Well, Knicks fans are still waiting and they received a glimmer of hope last week when Paul declined to sign a three-year, $60 million extension with the Clippers. The decision makes financial sense since Paul can potentially sign a five-year, $108 million contract next summer. "I know why I didn't sign my extension," Paul said on Sunday before the U.S. Olympic team practiced. "I'm going to play this season out and see what my options are." Paul wouldn't entirely rule out ending up in a Knicks uniform and neither would Anthony, who smiled when asked about Paul's future prospects.

Dude you have BG,Odom,Crawford,Jordan,Billups this season...Clippers are now in the mix for the wcf and potentially finals.Going to NYC won't be smart on his part, Melo wants the ball, he needs the ball, you think he's gonna change his game now?

Sorry Chris we don't need you. In Lin we trust!

Oh my god...would all these stars just **** about their contracts and future plans and just focus on the GD contract they have signed. They cry about wanting contract extensions so their futures are protected, but then whine about being locked into a contract when everything isn't going 100% their way. You can't have it both ways. And Dwight Howard, I'm looking directly at (a picture of) you when I'm ranting about this!

You won't be able to afford him but he will make the Clippers fans hate him like what Dwight is doing to the Magic right now... I'm crossing my finger for Mecca

Yes -- the only way Knicks could do something with Paul is to get rid of Amare somehow -- and Chandler.

Gmafb......I'm tired of this garbage.Stern should put a moratorium on the press asking players questions about future destinations , just as he does with teams and management

He can't stop the Press from asking ... he could try to tell players not to talk.

No in Lin you trust. Dude sometimes with these outta left field statement you make, you simply amaze. Lin vs. Paul? Really. We listen to all your Melo ain't this talk and wishing the Knicks not even make the playoffs and all the lose the next ten games. Just complete asinine garbage, and now you suggest Lin is better than Paul and the Knicks will compete for a ring with Lin.......just laughable. No wonder other posters look at the cards in your deck. We Melo carried the Knicks into the playoffs with a player of the month last May and a ridiculous 30 pt ave over that period, you mouth was completely shut and unheard of. Then you resurfaced in the playoffs with suggestions and all.......Dude save It!

Have u had ur coffee this morning? Geeez...Sounds like ur beef is moreso with NFL players, NBA players have much more "wiggle room". CP3 never cried about a contract extension either, even if he does sign with the Clips he will get paid MORE $$..sounds like a good move to me. Who doesnt want MORE $$?

Besides..he answered a question he was asked. Do you want him to go Drew Rosenhaus on us? "Next question"
