The most polarizing player in the SEC

08:16 AM ET 07.09 | A recent ranking of the SEC's top players finds Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron at No. 31 on the list, which has brought out his supporters. And the thing about that one is, they may be right. There may be no player in the SEC who draws a greater difference of opinion than McCarron. His fans point to the crystal football in Alabama's trophy case and his MVP award in the BCS championship game. His detractors say Alabama could have won that title without him, that he doesn't take enough shots downfield, that he is too quick to rely on the checkdown. But McCarron is only doing what Nick Saban wants, and that starts with protecting the football. When you have the horses Alabama had last season, there's no reason to take a bunch of unnecessary risks.

Nice suit, by the way!

They had a different pick of Sabinz over the weekend, WITHOUT the UCLA-colored suit.

How come we can't get that one back, and toss this clunker in the delete file?!?

Yep, he sucks. Next question.

How do we know whether he's real good or not. The kid hasn't been turned loose so we can find out.

All we know is he can manage the game well enough to keep Bama from losing...at least in the NCG. He proved that.

I have a Super bowl ring to prove it.

Have you taken it over to Pawn Stars to have Big Hoss or The Old Man verify the thing?

That's the only way to know if it's real or not, y'know.

Yeah, to me too, not good for MR though.

Just glad MR gave full release and not conditional like so many others
