08:18 AM ET 07.09 | Robert Nkemdiche has taken Clemson out of the tough spot he seemed to put them in last week when he told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution he might give Mississippi a closer look if Clemson did not offer high school teammate Ryan Carter a scholarship. But in a telephone interview Sunday, Nkemdiche said Carter's recruitment would not affect his commitment to the Tigers. "Of course I would want to play with him," Nkemdiche said of Carter. "But if it doesn't work out, I'll still go to Clemson." Nkemdiche said he never demanded that Clemson's coaches pursue Carter. ... "I didn't give Coach Swinney an ultimatum about anything," Nkemdiche said. "I hope he doesn't feel obligated to offer anybody a scholarship because of my commitment."

Did you see where he has about half his high school team getting offers from Clemson.

I suppose it could've all been a big, nasty, media-driven misunderstanding, and he didn't REALLY try to hold Dabo hostage for a scholly for his buddy.

But I say it sounds like RN is backtracking after seeing all the hollering.

Sounds like he's walking back previous statements.

Ask yourself WWSD? (What would Saban Do?) The answer is clear, Kennan Allan demanded Bama give Zack Maynard an offer or he would walk. Allan and Maynard are now playing for a terrible Cal team.
