Lewis not buying Reed's Twitter bluster

08:04 AM ET 07.10 | To show or not to show, that's the question for Ed Reed. [Reed] gave us another tea leaf to read Saturday evening when he sent this message to his "bosses" via his Twitter account. "Back home with my son, he's riding his bike [and] I'm doing yard work! Tell the bosses I'm comfortable!" Though Reed was clearly trying to catch the Ravens' attention with the Tweet, I would caution against reading too much into one Tweet. ... [Ray Lewis] said he expects Reed to be at camp. "I talk to him all the time. I don't expect nothing different," the inside linebacker said when Reed skipped the team's mandatory minicamp last month. "Ed is Ed and when July 25th comes up, Ed will be here and we'll be getting ready to roll."

He just wants more money to shut up and play.

Reed can't afford to miss training opportunities as he gets older. Young guys see what happens when you hold out and productivity drops. I just can't see negotiating with a guy that isn't at his designated place of duty.

And the guy talking in this article Ray-Ray is what 37 yrs. old now - there both getting up there in age, not many years left in either one.

Reed is crazy good on the field, but he's also just crazy. And the way he has been letting his hair and beard get out of control as of late, he is starting to look and sound like a crazy homeless man.

Maybe he's preparing for life after football as a police informant, or actor, or something like that...

NFL vets always do this so they don't over work their bodies in training camp... nothing big here... he'll report later in tip top shape ready to roll... don't get why this is even a story..

This is a thread because there are no neverending Tebow or Farve threads to take its place during this slow NFL offseason.

Oh Hum

Ed will be there in September. But if he gets injured this year, the Ravens may not play this off-season game with him again

Love his talent , Love his Team. hate the Diva he has become

The dude is arguably the best safety to ever play the game, how can you sit there are criticize him for wanting to be duly compensated. They sure better hope they come to an agreement. Without Ed that defense is just not the same plus they will be missing Suggs

Very fair argument. I think Ravens fans are probably a little tired of his act every offseason though.

Yea I can understand that too, but it's also annoying when fans just look at it from a selfish standpoint, the man is apart of a billion dollar organization and if he feels they aren't paying him what his talents deem necessary then he has every right to publicly complain. There is no honor either way, if he got seriously hurt at this point they would cut him without hesitation.

Most Ravens fans around here have tuned him out by now. He's played this card before and he showed up for training camp. As long as he's making game changing plays the fans will put up with the random tweets and proclamations about his playing status.
