Raiders' Allen has Seymour gushing

08:06 AM ET 07.11 | Consider Richard Seymour, who once played for Bill Belichick, impressed. The Raiders' defensive end, who most likely has a bust with his visage on it waiting for him in Canton, talked briefly and positively about new coach Dennis Allen during Oakland's mid-June minicamp. Monday, though, Seymour spoke glowingly about the rookie head coach. "Some coaches just have the 'it factor,' and Dennis Allen has it," Seymour told former Raiders quarterback Rich Gannon and Adam Schein on NFL SiriusXM Radio. "I can't stress enough about everyone being on the same page." Being a more disciplined team ... was a huge reason new general manager Reggie McKenzie thought outside of the box in hiring Allen, who, at 39, is just seven years older than [Seymour].

Biggest mistake the Patriots made in the last 5 years was letting Seymour go. No more Seymour, no more pass rush, no more rings.
Good things seem to be happening in Oakland. I hope they have a good year.

Not one of their better personnel decisions for sure!

I like Seymour and it says a lot to the fans and the team when you have a veteran like him speaking positively and without prompting about the new coach.

If that's their biggest mistake, that's pretty damned good as far as I'm concerned.

Letting Seymour go could have been their biggest mistake, but bringing in Albert Haynesworth was their largest mistake.

I believe they havent won a SB since he left? Not sure off hand but you can def pinpoint the decline of their pass rush to his departure

the pats got rid of Richard Seymour way to quickly, he had several more good years. the raiders are also close to righting the ship and playing in the weak afc west they could make the playoffs

At some point in time we all learn from our mistakes, Richard Seymour, has turned his energy into a positive force both on & off the field, and has Shown leadership qualities in Oakland that somehow got lost or overshadowed in New England!

In fairness, it is better to trade a player a year too early rather than a year too late.
