Nets giving up on Howard

08:09 AM ET 07.11 | A complicated matter grows more complicated by the day. Brooklyn needs [Brook Lopez] as the centerpiece of a sign-and-trade deal to acquire Orlando's Dwight Howard, but is running out of time waiting for the Magic to make a decision on where they want to trade him, sources said. The Nets need to add four free agents into a deal for Howard, and convincing all of them to be a part of a complicated sign-and-trade deal much beyond Wednesday's end to the league's moratorium on transactions becomes increasingly more unrealistic every day. ... Orlando has refocused its trade talks for Howard with the Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets, and the Nets are starting to believe that Magic general manager Rob Hennigan simply wants to do a deal elsewhere, sources said.

Way too much for someone who hasn't proven anything

For mma......Wow...I saw what brook was going to sign for, damn.

I hope the Nets give up on Howard and let Brooks man the middle. I think he'll be a better compliment to DWill and JJ than Dwight will... Deron is more offensively polished than Howard and can make free throws when it matters most. He's also a team player who will try to fit in instead of trying to be the center of attention.... if I'm Orlando I'll let him rot at home Marbury style!

Who wouldn't? I mean, who really wants to strengthen a conference rival?

I don't think Nash and Jason Kidd made their teams better. You look at the West and there's Parker, Westbrook and Chris Paul... who can Nash guard. The East has Rose & Rondo... I really don't think Phoenix helped a division rival....

That, coming from a LA fan who just got a early Christmas gift wrap from the Suns, my friend, is called hypocrisy LOL

Nash asked to go to L.A. and the Suns out of loyalty and respect of Nash gave him what he asked for.

You sir are a jealous hater because the only way your team will ever be great is if you jump ship to a great team!

Are you kidding me? We got a 39 PG and they walked away with our future! Two first round picks, two second round picks and a pocket full of change!

This move was for a win now season. Something Phoenix was not capable of pulling off so why keep Nash handcuffed when there's so much booty on the table?

If I was Orlando, I would want him in the West. You already have the defending champ in your division. Send him to LA or Houston.
