Security extremely tight at Jets West

08:04 AM ET 07.12 | Even if you're in Mission Vijeo, Calif., this week, it's not likely you'll see Mark Sanchez. [Sanchez] wasn't kidding about keeping Jets West under wraps. Sanchez's annual West Coast confab with his Gang Green offensive skill mates here this week feels more like Fort Knox to observers not on the invitation list to get inside the stadium at Mission Viejo High School. [Wednesday's] roughly two-hour workout in the late morning was guarded by five uniformed Orange County Sheriff's Department deputies (one of them openly sporting a shotgun) in four marked vehicles, as well as several other plainclothes officers at the entrances. While the Jets worked out in shorts and without helmets on the sunken field below, Sanchez's security detail wrapped bright yellow police tape around the entire stadium and patrolled the parking lots and any potential vantage points.

Let the countdown begin......

Geez, he got harassed at the ESPY's with all the Tebow talk. He must be hating life. That countdown you're asking about, is the daily one or is this for Sanchez' suicide watch?

Good for Sanchez, nothing like being prepared for the Season!!!

"... five uniformed Orange County Sheriff's Department deputies (one of them openly sporting a shotgun) ..."

Gives a whole new meaning to the shotgun formation, doesn't it?

The Jets had to hire armed guards to keep Sanchez from leaving.

I still haven't figured out exactly what the police detail is guarding from the public that we don't already know.

I was thinking they charged 10,000 people $10 each to get in, and they're not going to let them out.

Water $5. Salty snacks $5. Dry ham sandwhich with extra salt $15. Refills on water $7.
