08:08 AM ET 07.12 | Though he at one point urged reporters, however subtly, to get on with the show so he could "get to the gym," Steve Nash seemed otherwise comfortable with the strange circumstance. [Nash] held up his No. 10 Lakers jersey and admitted the idea of playing for the 16-time NBA champions was still a bit "surreal." "This is a day I never foresaw in my life, but it's an incredible opportunity," Nash, 38, said during his introductory news conference Wednesday, referring to the past 16 years when he viewed the Lakers as rivals. ... "I think that (playing for a rival) was a major hurdle for me to get over as a competitor, but the opportunity to play for one of the most decorated franchises in the world is something I couldn't pass up," he said.

With Nash on board it doesn't even make sense for Lakers to get into the Dwight sweepstake. I suspect Howard will have lingering back issues the rest of his career... if Lakers have to give up Bynum Dwight is not worth the gamble.
