08:11 AM ET 07.12 | So, Linsanity 2.0 will begin at training camp. Not only are the Knicks matching Jeremy Lin's offer sheet, but they are starting him next season, too. Coach Mike Woodson boldly stated Wednesday night Lin begins training camp as first string point guard over newcomer Jason Kidd. "I won't do that," Woodson said of benching Lin. "You can't lose your starting job based on injuries. Jeremy was our starter before he got hurt. Unfortunately he went down with an injury. He's not going to be punished for that. He's got work to do this summer. But when he comes back to veterans camp, he'll have the first nod. He'll be our starter and Jason will back him up in terms of helping developing this young man into a great point guard."

At this point in his career Kidd should not be starting over Lin or getting more minutes than Lin. The guy is pushing 40, can not penetrate anymore and is pretty much just a spot up 3pt shooter.

Raymond Felton is still an option, he's got experience and would be a great compliment to Kidd.

Was there any doubt that the Knicks would match?

Kidd not the starter now.......but you can bank on when Lin fizzle 1/3 into the season there will be an outcry for change. New York City wants real competitive basketball and if you don't cut it (Lin won't) the uproar is in store.........bank on it.......I said it!

Lin's performance and durability is questionable so I won't call him a solid point guard. Jason Kidd is old and can't play starter minutes. In need of a third string solid point guard. Grunwald signs a 35 year old from Argentina that has never played in the NBA. To fix the hold at shooting guard he picks up this White guy no one's heard of from Europe.... what the freak. Now instead of going hard after Sessions or Felton he'll sign Jefferies and probably match Fields' offer and call it a day... what the freak? Of course Knicks will suck...
