Greinke back in Kansas City?

08:13 AM ET 07.12 | There are, apparently, no hard feelings in Kansas City. The Royals haven't ruled out a run at bringing star free agent pitcher Zack Greinke back to Kansas City if he remains unsigned after the year, a person familiar with the team's thinking said. The Royals have always liked Greinke and aren't going to hold his 2010 trade demand from Kansas City against him. They are said to want to add two proven starting pitchers via free agency over the next couple years, and Greinke, who won the Cy Young for the Royals in 2009, would be a great start. The chances for a reunion aren't necessarily as great, however. The biggest factor in Greinke's decision remains the chance to win.

I would take him back, but they got some great young prospects!!!

This is a joke, right?

The Royals need to stay on course and keep developing young players. Besides I don't know who they are trying to fool themselves or their fans Greinke will be to expensive for them.

Just another reason why CBS Sports is sub-par as this info is exactly opposite of the truth. Are the Royals taking the politically correct by saying things like, "We'll definately take a look at him" or "We haven't ruled out the idea of bringing him back?" Of course they are saying things like that. My source within the Royals organization said that they won't consider him at all. Not b/c of his talent on the field but because of the amount of money that he will demand and b/c of his attitude in the clubhouse. Doesn't act like a diva neccisarily but more like an 11 year-old. But the kid has talent streaming from his pores! I hope he gets huge money and gets his WS ring!

They already have Wilson, Weaver and Haren along with Hunter & Wells making $45M/ season. You cant forget about Pujols either. Where's the money gonna come from?

Greinke wont go to KC. They just cant spend the kinda $ he's gonna be looking for. How about St. Louis? Losing Pujols they didnt do much in the off-season to diminish that loss.
