Is Sonny Dykes a short-timer?

08:18 AM ET 07.12 | Louisiana Tech has a chance to draw some national attention this season when it hosts Texas A&M, a team making its SEC debut. Head coach Sonny Dykes has this program on the rise as he enters his third season in Ruston, and this offense is primed to give opposing defenses fits. ... In addition to A&M, Louisiana Tech also faces Illinois and Virginia. So there will be a few opportunities to break through against BCS-level competition this fall. With 16 starters returning from last year's squad, this is a dangerous non-AQ program. And the future is bright with former Parade All-American quarterback Scotty Young on his way from Texas Tech. The question is how long will Dykes be in Ruston before a major program offers him a bigger gig?

How did La Tech get a home game with a biggie? Two for one?

TAMU is a "biggie"?

Only in size, they haven't been all that good on-field in 20 years or more. Even during the "breakout" season they had two years ago they got crushed when they played a strong bowl team.

Hey they're in the SEC now. That means they're elite.

Nah, they are like Ole Miss, Kentucky, and Vandy-food for the elite. TAMU's only real hope in the near to 10 year future time period would be NCAA sanctions hitting LSU, ARK, and Bama.

Somebody has worse-than-usual "sheep activity" pictures, and used them for leverage.

I saw a guy at the airport wearing a Aggie/SEC T-shirt. It had a big maroon "SEC" logo on the front and "Texas A&M SEC Football" was on the back.

They haven't played their first game yet ... but they're a member of the club!

The local Houston media is covering today's aTm announcement/unveiling of their new uniforms sporting the SEC logo. Making out like it's a big deal.

<yawn>

All I know is, the Gators better kick that eaTme azzssz, or else I'm gonna catch all kinds of hell around here. That reminds me, anybody know where a guy can get 4 tix to that game?

You can score some tickets, but payment involves a lot of wool action....

If the Aggies had stayed one more year they would have won the B12, right?Or, maybe it is after one year in the SEC they would be able to win the B12!

Right.

Tannehill & Fuller play for the Dolphins. Cyrus Gray plays for the Chiefs.
But everyone knows SEC teams just reload every year.

watched the replay of the UT/atm game earlier this week. Still don't get RT being a 1st rounder. He looked so lost and was so easily baited to making throws.

I could've sworn I posted a response to your post, Doc, but guess it went into FN's la-la-land. Oh well, like most of my posts, there's not a big loss from that.

Yes, but QB play in the NFL is lackluster outside of 10-15 players so developmental QBs with upside become first rounders.

Just as bad ... Jeff Fuller went undrafted and Jerry Jones was too stupid to notice. He could have had Fuller at bargain basement pricing. He let Laurent Robinson go and obviously there is no plan to address the 3rd receiver.

JJ has a plan, like Cuban...
