"At Colorado College, about 10 minutes in," recalls Sieloff, the hitting machine the Flames selected in the second round at the National Hockey League draft last month in Pittsburgh. "A guy was coming around the net and I almost flipped him. Shoulder to chest, and he tumbled. I ended up getting tossed -- charging. But my coach said (the referee) tossed me out for safety issues." The opposition's safety? "No, for mine," he says, laughing. "I had to (leave) through the students' section and they were going nuts."

Not much to report really.
Executives and legal counsel from the National Hockey League met with executives, legal counsel and a collection of 11 players from the National Hockey League Players' Association for roughly three hours Tuesday at the PA's office in ongoing collective bargaining negotiations.
This was the fourth meeting since bargaining commenced June 29 in New York. Donald Fehr, the executive director of the NHLPA, said the sides plan to meet Friday at the NHLPA offices and several times next week.
The current Collective Bargaining Agreement expires Sept. 15.
"They've been positive," NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said of the meetings. "They've been constructive. They've been cordial."

Well, they did get the city right, and the sport. Give 'em some credit. They often foul that up too! And the guy wasn't talking about his sister-in-law making $4,000 a week while working the beer stand. All in all this story could be in line for a Pulitzer!
