08:17 AM ET 07.13 | Wings forward Tomas Holmstrom isn't exactly sure what his future holds, but he made one thing clear Thursday. [Holmstrom] said he'll talk with general manager Ken Holland in the next week or two, and the two sides will make a decision as to whether Holmstrom will return for one more season. But one thing's for sure -- Holmstrom isn't playing anywhere else next season. A report on the Swedish website HockeyExpressen.se suggested otherwise. "Not true at all," Holmstrom said. "It's playing in Detroit, or nowhere else." Holmstrom is training as he has the past 15 summers preparing for an NHL schedule. But he isn't sure if he's ready for the grind of another season.

Had a fantastic career, but probably time to hang 'em up. He was a specialty man last year, basically. Cue BGM for "players running away from the Wings."

Doesn't that person have to be a future HOF'er? Holmstrom ain't.

I guess it's like the draft, some years are better than others. We'll have to make due with this one. Selanne signed...though no news on Alfredsson

I was stunned to read that Selanne signed without so much as a word from FN. The interns are really slipping.

Oy. Is Babcock on every Wings' player's hockey card too?

Interns missed it because the NYPost and the Toronto Sun missed the story.

Not sure Selanne signing is any bigger news than anything else we are getting.

If he doesn't know by now if he wants to play another year, maybe that's his answer.

that's what I was thinking Phantom..if you don't have the drive to play...retire. He's had a good run with the Wings...nobody better at screening a goalie for years.

but on the plus side, we get at least another whole season of "The Fracking" picture

It has to be a hard decision, especially with all the success he's had with the Wings. But, if you aren't 100% committed to playing, you're doing your teammates a disservice.

Dornhoefer showed up at the Flyers prospects training camp with his sticks and skates the other day. He said he thought it was an alumni event. ;)

And if he showed up in NY nobody would be able to pronounce his name.
