08:55 AM ET 07.14 | With the release of the Freeh Group's report on the circumstances surrounding the Penn State sexual abuse scandal, all eyes now turn to the firm's investigation of the New Orleans Saints. Owner Tom Benson retained the group, headed by former FBI Director Louis Freeh, in April to focus primarily on wiretapping allegations made against General Manager Mickey Loomis and then afterward, to follow up on the NFL's investigation of a Saints pay-for-performance/bounty program .

That investigation the trustees initiated with the Freeh Group sure turned out well for PSU, Benson may not like what they find,,,,

But according to the article, he's not looking into bounty gate...just the wiretapping.

Good Morning Guys, beautiful day here on Long Island! I guy like Freeh should be considered to be the next Commissioner in any of the Big 4 Sports!

I had to look too... I was of the same impression as you, Joe.
And judging from his findings at PSU, Freeh doesn't care much about who is paying him... He gets his facts straight.

He could get nailed by Freeh, before he ever gets to Court, and that would be the first of many nails in his Coffin!!!

Unless he played in the league he shouldn't be a comish. Football should be run by football players, not snivelling wannabes like Goodell.

I definitely believe Benson is looking at giving the Commish a rash on this one, cause if the wiretap isn't such and the evidence isn't as strong as we're lead to believe Benson and his lawyers are going to have a field day against Goodell. I just don't see Benson as the Al Davis type.

I've said it before and I'll say it again....
75% of the players are bankrupt within a few years of retirement...WHY would you want them running your precious little game?

I don't think a former player should be commish. Not all coaches are former players and they have done just fine. I don't think you should have inmates running the prison. Commish Dez Bryant does have a ring to it though.

I thought that would be a SLAM DUNK win for the Redskins & Cowboys, but that didn't happen. THAT was what gave Goodell alot of his power was the arbitrator siding with him & the NFL on that issue and it wasn't correct.
