Allen, Lewis may opt out of Heat deals

07:24 AM ET 07.15 | Heat fans should appreciate Ray Allen next season, because there's no assurance he will be here beyond that. Two sources with direct knowledge tell us that Allen's two-year deal with the Heat includes a $3.2 million player option for 2013-14. So if Allen wants to become a free agent again next July, he can. So can Rashard Lewis, due $1.4 million in 2013-14. If Allen and Lewis both "opt-in" for 2013-14, Miami again would have only the $3 million mini-mid level exception, even if its amnesties Mike Miller, barring trades. If Allen and Lewis opt out, using the amnesty provision on Miller would give the Heat a $5 million exception.

Who gives a damn...surely not the Celtics and not nearly as many fans from around the nation as Heat fans and Allen might think. Ray, do what you have to do...sell out!

I didn't know they had deals with Heath Candy Bars. The sponsorships are rolling in now that they've signed with the Heat.

Lewis is a joke. One they caught him using PED's he was never the same. He literally stole from the Magic. The league should have an agreement with the players union that if they are caught using PED's they can void their contract.

Actually, I would expect that the best three point shooter in league history would be able to shoot better than Miller and Battier.

And we're worried that the Heat have only the mini-midlevel vs the midlevel exception in 2013-14 because of why? Yeesh, plenty of other FA deals being made (or potentially to be made) that out rank this.

we may soon have a challenger. have you looked at Jenkins - the hawks rookie? Damn the guy can shoot and has a very similar release like Allen.

But he can't do anything else but shoot LOL.
