08:56 AM ET 07.15 | Despite a report to the contrary, Browns rookie receiver Josh Gordon told The Plain Dealer on Thursday that he never failed a third drug test at Utah. Gordon admitted to The Plain Dealer that he failed two tests for marijuana at Baylor, one in October of 2010 a day after falling asleep in the drive-through of a Taco Bell with a teammate and one in June of 2011 after he returned from summer break. He said the second failed drug test was the last straw for Baylor and they suspended him indefinitely in July 11. He then transferred to Utah. Albert Breer of NFL.com reported Friday that according to four NFL clubs, Gordon, 21, failed a third test at Utah, where he practiced with the team but wasn't permitted to play because of NCAA transfer rules.

BFD, the kid smoked some pot.

I don't think you have the head games going on in the supplemental draft that you do in the full draft, where teams will spread all sorts of rumors about players to effect their perceived value. If 4 teams are saying he failed a drug test at Utah, there's a pretty good chance he failed a drug test at Utah.

This kid is going to get to know Roger very well.

That should make him a shoe-in as a future Cowboys or Jets prospect.

Yup let the witch hunts continue

So the Browns could possibily have a weed head and a liar all in one. I feel the Browns are regressing if that is indeed possible.

Could he be the next Ricky Williams???

Agreed.

Apparently the Browns feel there was a lot of upside to taking a chance with Gordon, or they just didn't do their homework before the draft.

Is there a three strike rule? How many chances do these players deserve?

He isn't a player yet

Which shows just how stupid he is ... put his NCAA eligibility in jeopardy.

Yeah because Trent Richardson would make any team regress.

Agreed.

Just because people want it to be legal does not make it legal. The kid still has to suffer the consequences. And he obviously has a history of not learning from his off field mistakes.

I'd hardly call a college kid smoking weed a mistake. Even some of our Presidents smoked a little weed in college. BFD

Drug issues get worse when your a Pro, because you have the Money!

I guess he inhaled, LOL. Falling asleep at the munchies drive thru, The cars backing up, horns honking, makes you glad he wasn't on the freeway.

But those future Presidents weren't being tested for weed at the time. On the other hand, Gordon knows what is at stake if if he is caught using. Three fails? It is probable that this young man will fail at the next level too. Maybe you burn a 6th or 7th round pick in hopes of turnaround. But a 2nd? that's a waste. The Browns front office must be smoking something too.

If they want to keep their NCAA eligibility then it is a mistake.

The kids know the rules. If they what to spend their extra time getting baked, they shouldn't sign on the dotted line.

As much as I hate illegal drugs, I can only hope he put this immaturity behind him. But if Michael Phelps can do it and win Olympic medals, maybe this guy can hang on to Weeden's spirals.

What a loser if he did. I mean seriously, failing drug test in Utah? He's lucky the state didn't kill his whole family. They're messed up over there, for sure.

I doubt it is any worse than Texas
