09:08 AM ET 07.15 | After a rough morning on Saturday, Brandon Facyson had a happier finish to the day. The DB from Northgate High School committed to Virginia Tech over Georgia Tech, Missouri, Ole Miss, North Carolina and Wake Forest. On Saturday morning while at Virginia Tech, Facyson was rushed to a nearby hospital ER after having difficulty with breathing, eating and swallowing. Facyson was diagnosed with a abscess in his throat area and was given a shot of antibiotics. ???It just came out of the blue,??? Facyson told the AJC. ???I didn???t think it was anything serious but then it started affecting everything else. We went to the ER, which I was glad about. Because if I had waited later, I would???ve probably had to get [the abscess] drained.??? After spending 90 minutes in the hospital, Facyson was released and went directly to Virginia Tech camp and committed to coach Frank Beamer.

I'm glad the kid is ok, but he might feel worse when he gets the hospital bill.

Would it be an NCAA violation to pay his Emergency room visit bill Probably would, the NCAA can't have colleges being responsible for a recruits health during a visit.

The ambulance ride alone is probably around $15K.
That shot of antibiotics came with a 1,000% markup.
Every time I go to the hospital it reminds me I'm in the wrong business ...

I understand when we do a copy and paste and we get the ????? in them, but when SI does it, that's pretty pathetic.
As for this kid. Sounds like a medical hardship case.
