Jackets' camp could be awkward for Nash

09:18 AM ET 07.15 | Trade talks regarding Blue Jackets captain Rick Nash have gone cold in recent days. Make that colder. Through this long, arduous process -- now in its sixth month -- Blue Jackets general manager Scott Howson has not come close to trading Nash. With each day, Howson and Nash's camp -- led by agent Joe Resnick -- are confronted with the possibility that this saga might not end soon. Nash could attend training camp, which would be an awkward scene, attracting widespread media attention. Or he could stage the first Blue Jackets' training camp holdout since Nikolay Zherdev missed three weeks while threatening to play in Russia before the 2006-07 season. Then again, negotiations between the NHL and its players' association on a collective bargaining agreement could postpone the start of training camps and the regular season, stringing it out even further.

Yes the dreaded Zherdev holdout the Jackets haven't been the same since

But really Nash would give up 27k a day to miss training camp don't think so but I could see the team asking him not to show up probably be at the London Knights camp to stay in shape

It's no big surprise, you find a lot of awkwardness at these special needs camps.

The Jackets Gm has tried to trade Nash since trading deadline of last season with no luck. Now he has made a ongoing soap opera out of it and if he ever does trade him now it will be for a whole less because teams know now they are in control not him.

It's okay, preseason is only going to last for a week or so before the shortened season starts.
