Blazers will make Minnesota sweat

08:06 AM ET 07.16 | On Sunday, finally, the Timberwolves extended a $45.5 million offer sheet to Nicolas Batum. Portland now has three days to answer simply with the formality of matching it. If the Trail Blazers weren't willing to accept future first-round draft picks and/or players from the Wolves in sign-and-trade discussions for Batum, then they won't let him just walk away for nothing. Given all that has transpired between the teams, expect the Blazers to wait until late before doing so. ... A Wolves representative delivered the offer sheet to Trail Blazers General Manager Neil Olshey in Las Vegas on Sunday afternoon, a seemingly civil act in a relationship between two franchises that appears to have grown catty, if not outright contentious, over time.

he is at best a T.Prince

Fantastic. Now Portland can match it and we can all move on. Portland gets a guy that has established himself there and Minnesota doesnt have that contract to deal with and another SF/2 guard combo fighting for minutes. Win/Win in my book.

A lot of dough for him. Hard to get any relevant free agents to SIGN there though, so I understand.

I just hope, for that kind of money, he gets a LOT better.

(sniff, sniff) You smell that?

Smell what?

PLAYOFFS!!

That is a lot of $$ for this cat

Completely agree jgb. I hope he does well as he does have a good game. Paying that type of money for potential though, not good. Then again that's what we have to do up here to get people to play. Once he is matched, MN can go ahead and ink the contracts of the other 5 guys they have lined up to overpay. LOL. This Kahn, i dont know, he's either crazy like a fox or just crazy. I'd bet the latter though.

For 40 years Portland has consistently made the wrong move in terms of personnel. I wouldn't expect this case to be any different.

He's worth it... Portlands system is killing this kid... he's a great player and will probably outplay his contract..

Great player????? He hasn't reached good player status yet. Career stats 10.2 pts 3.9 rbs 1.3 ast, he's been in the league for 4 or 5 years and is not likely to be anything more than what he is. You are very generous with the term great. Thats the kind of thinking that keeps players like Kwame Brown and Darko Milicic in the league.

I also think he doesn't fit your teams need. You have forwards, you need a SG that can create and score.Batum isn't that playerAs jigsaw said above- which is a good assessment- he's a T prince type-

i'd say a t-prince type is exactly what we need in our starting lineup. if he plays like prince then i'd say this contract will be considered a success

And we thought the Lin offer was bad...lol

Does Batum have the juice to = Linsanity's 25 game performance during the shorten season? How does K-Love feel about him helping Minnie make the playoffs since the BIG Ticket years?
