08:08 AM ET 07.16 | Chicago comes out of this summer weekend in the midst of change. As the Bulls tried to finalize their three-team deal to send Kyle Korver to the Hawks via the Timberwolves, Korver arrived in Atlanta for a physical scheduled on Monday. ... Otherwise, Kirk Hinrich eventually will sign with the Bulls. His transaction is on hold as the Bulls sort through their other various maneuverings, which on Saturday included Yahoo Sports! first reporting O.J. Mayo is considering the Bulls, Lakers, Suns and Mavericks as his free-agent finalists. Along these lines, league sources said the Bulls have shopped Richard Hamilton's expiring $5 million deal, which carries a mere $1 million guarantee for 2013-14. Thus far, there have been no takers.

If they can find a taker for him, they should do it. Especially if it means they will have a better chance at bringing in OJ Mayo.
I think the Bulls are planning for two years from now. They know they won't really compete next year with Rose not being fully 100% and missing much of next season. They seem to be trying to get rid of the players who gave them nothing on offense and are trying to bring in guys to help take the scoring load off Rose.

I hate the way the NBA does business these days, with expiring contracts, amnesty clauses, and **** like this.

Agreed...
Rose will be back later in the year but with Brooklyn, the Knicks and Boston making improvements, the Bulls will have a tough road to sled next season.
The Bulls really are squandering Rose's best years by making these crap moves.
1st - the Boozer deal is ridiculous for what he gives.
2nd - Rip Hamilton is not worth crap now.
They need a 2nd option with Rose badly...until that happens, they are going to be 2nd fiddle to Miami and maybe 3rd or 4th to the other improving East squads.

The Bulls are trying to make room for a SG who they can afford, O.J. Mayo. Having traded Korver they realize they need a true SG that can give them solid minutes. I don't see them resigning Asik unless they plan on amnestying Boozer next season.

Ha RIP is basically done but he only has one more year guarenteed. I would try to trade him hopefully for a future draft pick and look to amnesty Boozer no one within reason is taking that on.

One year is left on his contract. Amnestying that contract is a waste of their ONE TIME ability to go this rought.
Although I rather see him get traded (even for draft choices), Boozer is a better candidate for amnesty.

OH.....that one year is for $5 million. Again......a poor choice for amnesty.

Depends on what his minimum bid would be.

Maybe it goes without saying but he'd be welcome here in Charlotte. He can back up Ben Gordon..CHI can take Gerald Henderson who is not a bad player, just young.
