08:11 AM ET 07.16 | With Kevin Youkilis' return to Boston arrives some unfortunate baggage. Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine placed the onus for his strained relationship with Kevin Youkilis on the former Boston infielder Sunday morning. "I think the comment I made early, he made a big issue out of, and I don't think he ever wanted to get over it," Valentine said in response to a question about Youkilis. ... Asked Sunday if [the relationship] was strained, Valentine said, "I have no idea. It was whatever he wanted it to be." Youkilis, told of Valentine's comments before Chicago's game in Kansas City on Sunday, chose not to address them. "I got nothing about any of that stuff," he said.

If you are going to be a winner it takes leadership from the manager and team chemistry from the players to form a solid unit, the Sox have neither.

I read yesterday that it was Youk who was the "snitch" for chicken and beergate. Also, good morning all. I am back from my vacation.

Not nice to talk negatively about a player once he leaves your Team! Bury your Frustration, when this guy retires he will be your bench Coach!!

While I am not a huge fan of Valentine, I can certainly see his point of view on this. I liked Youk, but grew a bit tired of seeing him throw fits for his poor performances. A change of scenery has certainly helped both teams.

Let it go Bobbie; Youk's gone and there is nothing to be gained by stirring up the issue again.

I'm with you on this one Gary. I think over time Youkilis let his emotions get the better of him and it affected his play a lot.
