08:05 AM ET 07.16 | It appears the lead topic of the offseason isn't going away soon. Titans Coach Mike Munchak knows the topic won't go away any time soon. Which quarterback -- veteran Matt Hasselbeck or 2011 first-round pick Jake Locker -- will be the team's starter on opening day against the Patriots? ... Both quarterbacks performed well during offseason practices. Munchak has said he'd like to name a starter by the end of the preseason. "I am really proud of both quarterbacks. We are very pleased with both of them," offensive coordinator Chris Palmer said. "They're even. It is a competition right now. Coach Munchak has made that statement and when the time comes and everyone is comfortable with who the starting quarterback is, then Coach Munchak will announce it."

If it's "even"... then starting Locker is a no-brainer.

Long time ago. Peyton Manning played his college ball there.

Bingo. This is probably turning out exactly like the Titans wanted. A competitive training camp with both men pushing the other and then they can turn it over to Locker at the start of the season.

I do like hearing about this division now just because people are starting to realize there are 4 teams there, not just Indy. In fact, people may have forgotten that Indy is in the division.

It doesn't matter which one starts because second in the division is the best they can do.

It will be interesting to see how you can do if you go into the playoffs healthy this year.

What injury did he suffer last season that he hopes to overcome this year?

I think the reference is to the Texans losing starting QB Schaub, backup QB Leinart, and Mario Williams who was an excellent pass rusher from whatever position they were playing him. They did well with what they had left, but I agree it should be fun to watch if they can be healthy this year.
