08:17 AM ET 07.16 | Even in the offseason, momentum can build, and Irish fans hope that's the case for 2013. Cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III, one of the top targets for Notre Dame in the class of 2013, is expected to be on campus Monday. Hargreaves, a 5-foot-11, 185-pounder from Wharton High in Tampa, Fla., tweeted that he and his father would be making the trip to South Bend. Hargreaves' father, also named Vernon, is the special teams coordinator and defensive ends coach at South Florida under head coach Skip Holtz. Linebacker commit Jaylon Smith has been tweeting about Notre Dame's pursuit of Hargreaves. "Going after Vernon let it be known world," Smith tweeted on July 8.

Even as an ND fan I have to ask if this is a story worthy of interest beyond South Bend?
Yawn, another HS 18 year old is beginning his beauty tour of prospective schools.

I used to would say "Our daily ND thread." Not anymore. Better than another PSU/Sandusky/Paterno pukefest over and over.

Bama lock...just kidding..Looks to be headed to SCw

Aren't they at the scholly limit?

Once everything was factored in, I thought 14 was the max this year?

We have room for 4 more. Hargreaves and Ramsey should be headed this way. One more DB, one more IL and we are loaded with 4 and 5* guys.

Redfield will be the other DB.. If VH3 goes elsewhere..Expect you all to get Willis or Goodman..So I hope you all get VH3Hopefully that will send Willis and Goodman to LSU...

Yep. Redfield would be my first guess. If Lane decides to add 2 more DB's then Willis or Goodman would be next. We shall see.

Depending on the site... #1 rated Corner... Kid is talented... Dad coaches at USF... lots of friends on SC staff though... If SC doesnt get him I would think UF

When this kid visits SCw, I hope that Lane's wife is out of town, the Song Girls are all on break, and the weather suxes.

The weather rarely sucks (even when it does, doesn't last more than a day or two), Song Girls are ALWAYS around campus. (They vacation in shifts, so there are always at least 10 or 12 around). Lane just bought a house near the beach plus he is treated very well out here, Layla has no reason to hang anywhere else. Especially during prime recruiting season. Thanks

Okay, so last night on ESPN69 I re-watched the last 59 minutes of the Michigan-Notre Dame game, and I can say without a doubt that Piratey is totally wrong in blaming Tommy Rees for that loss. ND had the lead for 59:10 of that game, and when Michigan scored with 1:29 left in the game, Rees led the Irish back the length of the field to regain the lead with 30 seconds left. It was the crappy Notre Dame defense, led by Manti T'eo, that gave up 80 yards in 23 seconds... 2 plays for Michigan to score with 2 seconds left.

Even on the 2nd to last possession by Notre Dame, Tommy Rees completed passes to get ND a 3rd and 1, which they failed to convert on a running play that Brian Kelly called. Not Rees fault.

Tommy Rees is going to be the starter this coming season, because he deserves to be, and Piratey and the rest of the fair-weather Rees haters will cheer him wildly on each and every one of his 7 victories.

fwiw.... He already visited w/ his dad last week... Said SC is his leader... Looks like he gonna follow Agholor from last year

UF's got nice warm weather (y'all quit whining about the mosquitoes and humidity, kid's from Tampa and should be used to them), hawt chickies, AND he'd be playing in the SEC.

Sounds like a UF lock to me. 8-P

Ramsey is in. Not sure if it was his Mom or Grandma (sound was on the blink), but did you catch her outfit??? LOL. Loved the colors.
