Make-or-break opener for Alabama?

08:18 AM ET 07.16 | Two of college football's biggest and most successful programs will get things out of the way early this year, and what a difference that game might make. Alabama plays Michigan in its season-opener. Both teams are expected to have strong seasons, even national title-contending seasons. Watch how quickly Alabama will jump to the top of the list if it defeats Michigan in Dallas in its first game -- and how far the Crimson Tide will fall back in national polls if it loses to the Wolverines. The area to watch most closely in that game: Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson against Alabama's defense.

What, it's not a make-or-break opener for MeatChicken, too?

Of course not...only Alabama counts.

Is Michigan supposed to be that good @ Preseason #8 in one poll? If so I look forward to a very good game.

It is wrong to think Alabama will fall far if they lose, unless they just look awful doing it. They would stay in the top 8 and be in great shape for the SEC season.

So today we get a re-tread Bammer thread, an uninteresting Barner thread, and a yawner Domer-recruit thread.

On the bright side, though, at least there's no PSU thread.

Alabama's front 7 could have a monumental effect on the year for a few teams. Running QB's like Mich and Mizzou better learn to slide or get out of bounds. QB injuries could change the year for the teams after Gump leaves town

I always root for BigTen teams out of confernce. Well with the exception of meeeechegan. I would root against them in a race crossing the street.

GO BAMA!

QUOTE(#11):

you're right about QB injuries, especially for Michigan.

Mizzou's QB got hurt last year.....told the media he hates to slide & plans to take on the defenses of the SEC. IF he does, Gump might kill him.

When Arky plays Ala (and LUS) I want Wilson throwing the ball away and not taking the hits....gotta think beyond just that game.

QUOTE(#8):

Alabama 28-7 in an easy win. Michigan's Robinson is not an elite Qb and will get hammered by Bama.

Alabama's never seen anything like Big TEN SPEEEEEEEEEEEEED.

Saban had to put the game footage on FF so his players could learn their assignments.

No Sir, Bama wins going away with no problem, just stirring a little is all, boring summer.Bama by three td's or more.

I think Bama pulls it out but I expect it to be closer than the experts (us) think.
