07:13 AM ET 07.17 | O.J. Mayo, who made $5.6 million last season, could step into the starting lineup with Dirk Nowitzki, Shawn Marion, Chris Kaman and Darren Collison. Also, the off-season moves still allow the Mavs to be a major player during next summer's free agency period that could include Chris Paul, Andrew Bynum, Dwight Howard, James Harden, Josh Smith and David West.

1st :o) Speaking of CP3 and Harden, if the Americans repeat such an inconsistent game against a front court of Pau / Marc / Ibaka, they'll be taking home the Silver... Yes I know this is off topic, but it had to be pointed out that these guys are slacking (CP3 not included)...

Who cares!

Mayo wants a starting role, something he was not going to receive in Memphis. Now the adjustments begin to playing with Dirk and the other free agents (Brand, Collison, Kaman, and one other from the Pacers).

They failed miserably in getting Dwight and Deron, but Mayo, Collison and Kaman are all nice pickups. At least they are back in the playoff mix now.

At least they won't suck, Dee.

Probably a 5-8 seed but definitely can make some noise. Mayo is a solid addition.

Wow. Looking forward to 2013? Clearly Cuban and Mavs haven't learned anything from this year's debacle.

When it happens in NY there's cause for hope, but to Dallas and it's a debacle..hmm
