07:31 AM ET 07.17 | Jimmy Rollins never got an offer to go home to the West Coast when he was a free agent last winter. Could he end up there now? The Dodgers, who are short on prospects but long on both money and needs, have some interest in the Phillies shortstop, sources said Monday. Rollins is part of a long list of players the Dodgers are looking at, as they try to trade for both a hitter and a starting pitcher in an effort to keep pace with the Giants in the National League West. But he may be the most intriguing.

Tell to sell, Phils. But if the Dodgers don't have prospects, they are not the best partner.

Sheesh, how much is it gonna cost to get this guy - both in prospects and in salary? Can he still produce enough to make it worth it?

Maybe not as much as you think. The Phillies could use some salary relief, and maybe it's time for them to turn the corner and reload. Everyone know this team was built for the short-term.

Intriguing--dump a big salary from a rapidly aging player. But who do the Phils have to play shortstop? It the Dodgers had any good suspects, you would think they would be in the majors now.

Philly should send Rollins and Hamels to the Dodgers for Dee Gordon, some prospects and a couple of coupons for sushi.

He would be an upgrade over Gordon, but at what price....He also makes $11M.
