07:44 AM ET 07.17 | Phil Jackson has interest in joining the Trail Blazers in a non-coaching role, a source close to the legendary coach said, but it is unclear whether owner Paul Allen has interest in Jackson. "Phil would be interested in talking about a possible role in the organization," the source close to Jackson said. "My sense is there is a lot Phil can offer by being there, be it handling players, advising trade scenarios, managing coaching staff ... I think he would be a tremendous adviser to the owner."

I wouldn't want to be the coach if he's in the front office

The Larry Bird effect?

You're No Jerry West, Bro.

The Blazers brain trust needs all the help they can get.

There's no way I would go near that organization if I was Phil. That Team is cursed. Sam Bowie, Bill Walton, Greg Oden, Brandon Roy, Coach Nate, all have had career ending injuries and Aldridge has a heart condition. I'm just saying.

Translation: I don't want to actually do anything anymore but I'd still like somebody to pay me too much money.

A few good coaches have moved into a GM role and done well.

The list is not long, but there are a few out there...

Pat Riley is one name that comes to mind, Larry Bird another.

Phil can't win without a superstar.

Phil can you please send me a resume, they tell me you once played for The Knicks, that does not impress me!

I know that this is just a rumor!!!!
Phil knows better!!!!

And some other coach can?

QUOTE(#3):

Obviously, he doesn't need the $$.So, the only explanation is that he likes the perks - the fancy meals, staying in the best hotels, traveling on a private jet or in first class, things like that.Jackson is milking his past success for everything he can. He will probably dictate that he wants some sort of cushy job where he just sits around, watching practices and games, and giving freelance advice. Plus being able to travel when and where he wants to scout players or go on the occasional road trip.Basically write his own ticket in terms of the job description and just enjoy the perks.

I'm thinking after being paid $6 million-$10 million per year by the Lakers, Phil can afford to continue eating fancy meals, staying in the best hotels, and flying first class without getting another job.

Im surprised he wants to come here, we dont have Kobe Shaq or MJ? No thanks. Not even if he wanted to coach

He once won a championship with the Knicks. When was the last time you heard championship and Knicks in the same sentence?
