09:00 AM ET 07.17 | Quarterback Robert Griffin III was not on hand Monday when other Washington Redskins rookies reported to Redskins Park for workouts prior to next week???s opening of training camp. Griffin remains unsigned. He said last week that he???d hoped to sign a contract in time to report with his fellow rookies Monday for conditioning and classroom work prior to training camp. But the team and Griffin???s representatives continue to try to complete a four-year deal that is expected to be worth about $21 million under the sport???s rookie pay system. Griffin???s contract is expected to be fully guaranteed and contain a signing bonus of approximately $13.8 million. Unsigned players cannot report to training camp, under NFL rules. A person familiar with the situation said that Griffin and guard Josh LeRibeus, a third-round draft choice who also remains unsigned, were not on hand Monday at Redskins Park. Griffin was in the D.C. area, as he attended the U.S. basketball exhibition games against Brazil at Verizon Center Monday night.

But still worth reporting. Jimmy Olson would have gotten his **** kicked by Lois Lane for this crap.

Jimmy: Hey Lois, RGIII didn't report to training camp.
Lois: Really, Jimmy? Great scoop. Let's get moving.
Jimmy: Yeah, he hasn't signed a deal yet either!
Lois: Jimmy, you're going places in this business.
Jimmy: I know, this is crazy! I guess it's some kinda NFL rule that he can't attend until he signs.
Lois: <sigh> Jimmy, come here a minute.

He was Lois's boy-toy since she couldn't get Superman and Clark was so nerdy.

IOW: Breaking News: RGIII fails to violate league rules on attenting workouts prior to signing contract. Rush Limbuagh stunned that a black man is following the rules....pops some pills, millions hope he dies....

Let's recap. RGIII was not in camp because unsigned rookies can't report to camp. What did I miss? Where's the story?

The additional fact that nobody for the Redskins is panicking over the fact that he's not in camp.

July 17, 2012  11:23 AM ET

Gee I wonder if he will sign a big contract? Hey, he can only get so much under NFL cap rules for rookies. Must be some other details to it that he doesn't like.

July 17, 2012  11:39 AM ET

I would get my butt in there as soon as I can!!!

July 17, 2012  12:06 PM ET

If I were him I would get as much money one a 1 year rookie contract, then negotiate a new non rookie cap contract in 2013

With the Giselle garbage talk after the Super Bowl and now this, Wes can get a long term contract elsewhere.

The NfL Still cannot understand why attendance is down all over the league. They need to read these articles or watch SC to see what teams are playing for QB who have never took a snap in the league. And then the buck is pass down to the fans on ticket increases, concessions, and etc. For the average fan now the best way to go is Sunday Ticket, drink cheaper beer, and no parking expense.
