Phil might fit in Portland

08:07 AM ET 07.18 | Phil Jackson in Portland? Understand that Jackson's interest level may not mix well with whatever constraints this franchise may want to impose on him. I have a feeling Jackson could handle a little meddling from his owner. Hey, that goes with the job a lot of places. But he'd be wanting full basketball authority with no background noise from the owner's best buddy or anyone else. ... Jackson has never been a front-office guy. I have no idea if he'd be any good at it. He may, in fact, be a disaster. That said, if you pass up a chance to hire this man -- a man who knows more about what it takes to win than just about anybody else on the planet, you're nuts.

I don't know about that Pat Riley, seems to have adjusted well, after a couple of years of twitching!

Whether or not Jackson has front office experience, he couldn't possibly be any worse than the Blazers management has been in the past.

PJ will have to make an immediate impact. He doesn't have the adjustment time Riles had!

Time to ride off into the sunset coach!

But will he be able to reverse the curse that is cast over their organization? Namely their draft picks

more questions-is phil really willing to take the time to travel and scout guys ?he wanted a postition with the magic and a stipulation (that was reported) that he could stay in LA most of the time.....

True...and with his bum hip I doubt the idea of constant flying/traveling is appealing to him. Especially coming from Portland where most flights will be long. Phil just doesnt strike me as that GM/ front office guy type..he's not wound tight enough

Yawn... go away and fade away Zen Master. You're no longer relevant.

this makes zero sense, why would he even fart at it...?
