The Twins' worst rotation in decades

08:11 AM ET 07.18 | Minnesota's pitching was again bailed out by its bats Wednesday night, underscoring a sort of dilemma facing the Twins. People squawk about the awful starting pitching but then balk at the thought of trading a Josh Willingham or a Denard Span or a Justin Morneau. But that's what it's going to take. The Twins aren't going to get a quality starter, or pitching prospect, for Alexi Casilla, Danny Valencia or any package of current relievers. ... Personally, I would trade anyone at any time to acquire starting pitching. This is the worst Twins rotation I've ever seen. Even in the dark days of the late 1990s, there was a Brad Radke to anchor the staff. And often there was a decent No. 2 man in an Eric Milton or Joe Mays.

This all falls back on GM in the past, poor scouting department, and bad trades which makes the Twins starting pitchers become Twinkles.

Minnesota needs to build a new rotation. Trades, free agency, the waiver wire, drafts...whatever it takes.

I agree, the rotation is horrible right now. One of the worst I have ever seen to be frankly honest, and this coming from a Twins Fan o.O. Has there been times when the pitching is good? yes, but they have come few and far between. For example, When the Twins scored 19 runs against the Orioles on Monday, it was 10-2 in the 3rd. Then in the 5th it's 11-5. In my head I'm thinking 'here we go again blowing leads'. I agree with '...the best policy', It is going to take FA, claiming Pitchers off of waivers, trading players to acquire some good pitching, and getting someone in the draft, or even look to the minors for an up and coming SP prospect. But yea, It's not good this year.

One player they could trade would be Ryan doumit for cash, prospects, pitchers, whatever. The guy has a .287 BA is a switch hitter and is a catcher, he doesn't have a great arm for a catcher but most catchers can't hit, and to have one that can call a game and throw guys out as well as a salty, or hernandez. If you can't throw runners out you had better be able to hit.

The shotgun approach is the quickest way to respectability. Bring in as many arms as you can...some will pan out. Ultimately, you have to build through the draft...which the Twins used to be great at.

I have no sympathy for the Twinkies. They've had their time. Maybe they should have never left the Dome, 'cause it's been down-hill ever since they left.

Twinkies are just trying to align with all the other Minny pro sports teams in terms of suckage.

You're avatar speaks volumes as to how much respect for your comment I have. It's been downhill ever since Terry Ryan left. Now that he's back, we'll see how long it takes to be a one and done playoff team again.
