How quickly Spurrier forgot about Cam Newton

08:16 AM ET 07.18 | Having been one himself, Steve Spurrier, one might think, would be more familiar with SEC Heisman Trophy winners. Does Cam Newton ring a bell? Newton slipped Spurrier's mind, at least momentarily, during SEC Media Days on Tuesday. ... Spurrier said this season's SEC features a top quarterback at Arkansas in Tyler Wilson, and said Alabama's AJ McCarron "certainly looked good" in the BCS title game last year. But, overall, Spurrier said, "We've not had All-American quarterbacks too much, have we, lately in our league? Who was the last one? I guess (Tim) Tebow had to be." The media then reminded him about Newton. "Yeah, I guess he was an All-American Heisman winner. But we haven't had a whole bunch like in the past. Cam Newton, certainly."

In fairness to StoopidSteve Cam was only on campus for 6 months and was only the media darling for about 3 of those so its kind of easy to forget about him.

You're being fair to Steve? WTFjj?

QUOTE(#8):

Is Spurrier ever happy? He's like Bob Knight just a miserable guy. Bob Huggins also takes after Spurrier. All that money they make and they are miserable constantly.

Working for his money takes SOS away from the golf course. That's why he is grumpy.

He would've been much happier as a pro golfer.

Didn't TOBC say winning the SEC was harder than winning the National Championship.....just ask Saban?

He said it on purpose. He is still smarting from losing to them twice that year.

Please excuse him. He forgets. He's old like 0-6 and D2.

D2 got this one right.

The guy is always working some kind of angle, putting a little twist in somebody's undies, getting a rival to grind their teeth.
