08:04 AM ET 07.19 | Cedric Benson's recent plea for a chance to get back into the NFL left a lot of fans rooting for him. Even if he's a little unrealistic about his market value. Benson did not sound open to taking a veteran's minimum contract, which is a mistake. There's a chance he could eventually do better, but there's an equal chance that some veteran like Ryan Grant would take a lesser salary. So where would he fit? Benson mentioned that the Packers, Jets, and Raiders had "checked in" with him, but didn't classify their interest as serious yet. Here's where we think he'd fit best. 1. Baltimore Ravens: Benson could fill the old Ricky Williams role if the Ravens realize youngsters Bernard Pierce and Anthony Allen aren't up for the task of backing up Ray Rice.

If Hayneswoth and TO can get second and third chances Benson should be picked up somewhere.

Patience. Some RBs will go down during training camp or the pre-season, and he will get a shot.

I'm sure he will but do you think he gets more than the veteran minimum right now?

Has he been a Patriot yet?

Bengals would love for him to play for Baltimore......that would mean a couple MORE turnovers a game via his fumbles.

The best fit for Ced? Whoever wants him and whatever they're offering.

The old Raiders, yes. Hopefully, the new Raiders will break the tradition of trying to do it with retreads. That worked for a while, but Cash for Clunkers won't buy you a championship anymore.

Ced don't want to be a back-up or lead blocker tho, he wants to be the workhorse and he ain't gonna be that in Oakland.

Best fit?....behind bars for a long time

The best fit for Cedric Benson: an over-sized helmet. Benson is a legend in his own mind.
