Columbus stuck with Nash?

08:25 AM ET 07.19 | So much for Rick Nash looking good in teal. The San Jose Sharks haven't had any discussions with the Blue Jackets regarding [Nash] in "months," a source has told CSNBayArea.com. The Blue Jackets haven't come off of their insistence that Logan Couture be a part of a deal for the scoring winger, which is a non-starter for San Jose. The Sharks are reportedly one of a handful of clubs to which Nash would be willing to go. It may be difficult for Columbus general manager Scott Howson to find any team to take Nash at this point. The 27-year-old carries a $7.8 million salary cap hit for the next six seasons, which becomes even more unattractive of a price tag when you consider that the NHL owners are trying to significantly roll back the current cap.

Outside of NYR, I do not believe there is ANY market for the Nash Rambler.
Having been to Columbus, I am perplexed as to why he is making it so difficult to leave.

Further, any club he does wish to go to, Howson demands an international airport in return. This makes the Lindros saga of the late 90s look good.

I was going to say, they're stuck with him because the GM is a moron and this is what he gets for opening his big bazoo

between the Wiz at a hit of 5.5 and fedor tyutin at a hit of 4.5, is it any wonder that with a team THAT pathetic their spending is still in the upper half of the league?

At some point the price for Nash is going to have to come down. Unless the GM is trying to set up an excuse to Nash as to why he wasn't traded.

he is going to have to face reality sooner or later....and I daresay this cannot be good for either Nash nor the team, not to mention the fans

"Columbus stuck with Nash?"
Stuck? Sure! "We have him and the rest of you wish you did." Nice problem to have ... even for Columbus.

I have to be honest...if the price were okay, I wouldn't mind taking a shot. the guy can score on a crappy team, maybe with some quality around him, he'd be better yet

Right, but your talking about giving them a player from each of the NYR top 3 lines

Why is anybody surprised? After all, Scott Howson spent 5 years in Edmonton taking lessons from Kevin Lowe how to be a good GM. He's learned his lessons well.

Krieder hasn't really proved anything yet...he had a good playoff run to be sure....and he looks like he's got the goods....but so did John druce
