Bynum's agent: 'Zero contact' with Cavs on blockbuster

08:09 AM ET 07.20 | If Dwight Howard's future hinges on Andrew Bynum and Cleveland, perhaps it's time the Cavs get in touch with Bynum's agent. "I've had zero conversations with [Cavs General Manager] Chris Grant," said David Lee, Bynum's agent. "I would imagine any team involved in this trade would be smart enough to talk to us." Bynum is under contract to the Lakers, and it is common in trades of this magnitude for agents to be consulted before a deal is completed. Particularly in the case of Bynum, who can be a free agent at the end of the season. ... Asked whether Bynum would be interested in signing a long-term deal with the Cavaliers, who have the cap space to take him, Lee declined comment. "We are not in position to discuss that at this time," he said.

Yet DJ was almost bragging that this was true yesterday!

Yeah, hard to get a guy to agree to a trade and sign an extention when he's not been asked about it.

This whole freaking this has got to be making LBJ thank the heavens. My goodness, get this crap over with!

It doesn't make sense for Howard or Bynum to agree to an extension when they can make more money by just letting their contracts play out.

However, if Bynum is dealt to the Cavs then he and Irving could be a great combo and if Gilbert and company can put the pieces around those two then that team will be back.

What happens IF they get hurt and their value goes to zero?

'We are not in position to discuss that at this time,' he said. In other words..no thanks!

The King is a shrewd and wise businessman. He spent 7 seasons in a Cavs uniform sniffing the NBA Finals once. He couldn't handle the BIG bad Spurs alone.

I predict the Magic won't trade D-12. Dwight will play out his contract and then long with the Magic. He apparently loves Orlando. The Magic are so stupid they fail to realize that the players around D-12 are awful and won't help him get a NBA belt.

I think if you are Bynum or Howard you play out this season and then sign for a max 5 year deal. Don't mess around with another 2 or 3 year deal. Especially since Bynum and Dwight have now both had injuries.

I totally agree!!!
