08:17 AM ET 07.20 | Melky Cabrera didn't make many new friends this week at his former baseball home of Turner Field. By Thursday's series-finale, the outfielder was resoundingly booed every time he came to the plate or made a play in the field. He made rude gesture to fans in the left-field bleachers Tuesday. His slow home-run trot, excessive celebration of Gregor Blanco's 11th inning home run and apparent suggestion that Jason Heyward try to advance to third base on a flyout drew ire Wednesday. It continued Thursday, when he made a chopping gesture after an eighth-inning triple and the Giants losing 3-1. "That's Melky, and that's why he's not here anymore," Chipper Jones said after Wednesday's game. ... "It won't be forgotten."

We don't know what went on behind close doors when Melky was let go. The way you get back at them is to show it on the field with your play not acting like a fool to the fans.

Well, looks like a bunch of descendants of Thomas Wolfe are getting worked up over nothing. Laughable that a group of mouthbreathers can say anything worthy at all

So you think making rude gestures to fans is ok?

melky should be past the age to still be acting like a dope but i can specifically remember chipper back in the day when he is maturity level was in question. arrogant, cocky and just plain disrespectful. He's obviously grown out of it tho.....hopefully melky will to at some point.

The Atlanta fans were upset because he stunk when he was there, and now he's in shape and having a monster season. But they just need to get over it and ignore the guy.

Spare me your squeamish and sensitive sniveling, with your meek sensibilities. I could care less what you find amusing, or offensive.

So by saying you could care less, that means you do care. If you didn't care, you would say "I couldn't care less. Thanks for caring pal.

This is the year 2012, not 1965. You can take your racist views elsewhere.

QUOTE(#18):

Wrong. Only one incident comes close to criticism and it was Guillen's fault, not Harper's. Harper has acted fine since being in MLB.
