Showtime editing out Marlins controversy?

08:46 AM ET 07.21 | Showtime billed this Marlins reality series as "groundbreaking," suggesting it would lift sports reality television to a new level. File that under "overselling your product." One disappointment is that Showtime hasn't offered a single clip of Marlins executives discussing specific trade offers or players they would consider targeting. Hanley Ramirez's failure to fulfill expectations has been largely overlooked, even though it's a significant reason for the Marlins' predicament. Showtime didn't bother mentioning Ramirez cutting his hand, on a fan, in frustration (to Ozzie Guillen's dismay) and inexplicably has passed, so far, on airing a clip in which Ramirez's agent asked for a contract extension, and team president David Samson remarking later that this wasn't exactly the best time to make that request. Another huge omission: Ignoring Josh Johnson's disappointing first 3 1/2 months.

I'm guessing that all Showtime really wants is Ozzie making 30 minutes of outrageous comments in his Scarface accent. And that would work for me.

a player can't ask for a extencion in his contract with a low and poor performance skills, the owners have to be either a fools or sleep while signing contracts and extencions nothing more nothing less!!

The Team has to buckle down and play Baseball, everything to them looks like a joke, the need some control in the Dougout!! Where's Bill Martin when you need him!!!

July 21, 2012  11:04 AM ET

josh johnson has been a very reliable starter if the injuries took a toll on him that doesn't mean he seek the injuries in order to stay out of the marlins rotation, johnson its a tough competetor and i'm very sure he would love to be in the mound to be able to help his team win games, if this player hasn't been able to help the team its because he either still injuried or don't have enough run support to help the team win games!!

your poor performance at the field won't help you that's a very poor service as a player, first you have to give your all in every game, give your all and develope to a better hitter, make sure you have enough top stats on your favor, no player can demand a extencion or a big contract only because you use to be a good player in the past, past its gone and the past can't help you if you play a poor baseball in the current season, for mr hanley ramirez,,,

How has Ozzie Guillen been a manager for ten years and not once launched into the "Effff Gaspar Gomez, and effff...the efff'in Diaz brothers! I step on those cockroaches!" speech.

Another guy gettin' by on what people hope he might do next year. About time to conclude that next year is going to look pretty much like this year and last year...and unload him.

July 21, 2012  12:21 PM ET

when you have a disappointed seasons as hanley ramirez has in the last 3 seasons, there its no way in the world your current team should give any big contract, and if you remain and continue your albastros under performs at the field you aren't hurting nobody else but your ownself!!

July 21, 2012  12:26 PM ET

if you expect your boss to increase your salary then you need to keep improving in what's your best talent spot if you have skills but you have been unable to achieve your goals and the expectations from your own team, in other words you have been a faillure for your team and to every other team as well, no team should give you a big contract when you are nothing but underperformed player!!

July 21, 2012  12:28 PM ET

you as a infielder are obligated to improve, you can't improvise to any grade but you most grow as a players in a complete form, then you can ask any type of rewards!!

July 21, 2012  01:39 PM ET

the marlins have no shame on themselfs at all, poor attendance, and not to have their own stadium, all this was nothing but a bunch of cheap excuses, the franchise has a new stadium and a top quality players but when its not going to be for you not matter what you really do, a dog that eats a egg even if the owner burns his dogs mouth that dog would go back and try to eat a egg once more!!

July 21, 2012  01:43 PM ET

marlins has been good only to run his mouth in the media, marlins closer keep throw in any type of bunch of excuses, hanley ramirez concerns more about his extension on his contract than to play a serious baseball, there are too many people in the top seat but nobody seems to know exactly what they are really doing there at all!!

July 21, 2012  01:46 PM ET

you can't celebrate your goals before even achieve them at all, first you need to prove that you are capable in hunting the biggest prey then you can seat down and enjoy your well deserved meal!!!

July 21, 2012  01:49 PM ET

this has been the problem for the marlins year in year out,
the cubs problem has been the same as the marlins,
the same type of a problem the padres and the royals have, it seems as if all this teams had been carrying the monkey for too long!!

July 21, 2012  01:54 PM ET

yankees would be a tough team this year in the playoffs, the tigers are nothing but a fluke team and even if they make it to the playoffs they would be the first team to go home,
the angels are too unstable team all over their team, their pitching its too inconssistent their bullpen appears to be ok one day and before you know they blow the game wide open, their offense still groggy ans still lacks in maturity as a team offense, even if the halos were able to make it to the playoffs, there its very little hope to said that this team would be in the finals!!

the nationals are a tough team well untill last night when they collapse like an amateur triple AAA team!!
