09:54 AM ET 07.21 | P.K. Subban remains the lone unsigned restricted free agent on the Montreal Canadiens roster but, unlike fellow defenceman Shea Weber, he isn't looking elsewhere. There have been no discussions with other NHL teams, agent Don Meehan, told TVA Sports Friday. Weber, an RFA with the Nashville Predators, signed a 14-year, $110-million offer sheet this week with the Philadelphia Flyers. The Preds have seven days to match the offer. Meehan is focused on getting a deal done with the Canadiens. He said he has meetings scheduled next week with general manager Marc Bergevin.

If he dreams of anything resembling a Suter, Parise or Weber contract (14 years and mega dollars) he'll be waiting for a looooong time!

Trade him for Patrick Kane. Problem solved for both teams! :-)

Speaking of Habs...Gnomez (uggh) has half as many hole-in-ones this summer as goals this past season...aced a par three at his own tourney and won himself a nice set of wheels.

Is the dude from the Sun (or Subban's agent) trying to compare Weber & Subban?

What am I missing?

July 21, 2012  11:26 AM ET

I don't see anywhere in this story that he's comparing himself to Weber or wants to leave. Subban is perfect for the Canadiens and the city. He can handle the pressure of playing in Montreal. I think he thrives off of it.

I'll agree with you. I think Subban and Montreal deserve each other.

Thanks Harry :-)

I'm sure he isn't looking elsewhere, because 'elsewhere' isn't looking at him...

I agree, his disruptive presence in the locker room means more wins for the B's, and any other team playing against him.

And unlike Shea Weber, PK Subban doesn't have boatloads of talent and leadership ability.

The Canadiens will keep PK around a lot longer than they'll keep that retread Therrien.

+1 on this post. They want to keep him, he wants to stay. They'll work something out.
